day five and a spa day for Shyloh

No barn for me today. Shyloh had her hooves trimmed. Luckily, Kathy had no problem catching her to bring her in for the farrier and she did well. She has strong hooves and her feet are nice, which is good because I was a little worried about her hooves since she has been in mud for the past week. Shyloh also got an equine massage from Kathy! What a lucky pony!

Six places that I want to visit. Fun!!

Place 1 - Hawaii! I have always wanted to go to this tropical paradise.

Place 2 - Australia. Obviously for the kangaroos, koalas, and duck-billed platypuses. And the Outback.

Place 3 - Germany. I went here for three weeks in high school. I loved it! It had so much history.

Place 4 - Italy. My husband is fake-Italian. Basically, this means that a) his grandpa (step-grandpa, actually, but it is the only grandpa he knows on that side) is Italian, so his family grew up with a lot of Italian customs and foods; and b) he loves the Godfather movies.

Place 5 - St. Thomas Virgin Islands. I did a report on this place in fifth grade and I have wanted to go ever since.

Place 6 - All the national parks in the US, for obvious reasons!

  1. I could go for a massage and have my nails done!

    1. Ireland...where Dad's folks came from and I have always been drawn to it's beauty.

    2. Australia...because of Quigley Down Under and the movie where they call the horses Brombies and Kirk Douglas played two people...I can't think of it!!!

    3. The Grand Canyon...never been.

    4. Yellowstone park...same thing.

    5. Alaska...because it is so beautiful.

  2. The boys get their pedicures on Saturday. We are starting with a new farrier, a barefoot specialist. It will be interesting to see what he has to say. Of course, it will probably turn into a post!
I bet the mud is good for their hooves - that's what I keep telling myself because the boys' stand in mud to get a drink.
Glad that Shy behaved herself and didn't show Kathy her butt! Pippin did that to me a few times - but I was never really certain if he was really doing it purposefully.

  3. Gail - The horse get more pampering than me! A massage would be so wonderful! I've never been to The Grand Canyon, either, there are a lot of places I want to visit!

Dreaming - Our farrier is a barefoot specialist, too. She does a great job! I am interested to see how it goes for your boys! Shy does not show her butt to me, but I am not the one that is there at feeding times. I do not see that side of her. . .but it is something I would like to nip in the bud before it becomes a problem.
