Shyloh facts:
- Haflinger
- Mare
- 13.3 hh
- 8ish
- Chestnut
- Working on riding, starting back with line driving. Trail in hand champs!
- Shyloh has gone through so many changes and milestones since I brought her home. She went from a shy scared horse to a wonderful, funny, hard working horse. I encourage anyone to read the blog to see her progress.
- She is still shy with people she does not know, but she opens up a bit more quickly. Especially if you have treats.
- I try to stay away from processed treats and sugary treats as much as I can. Shy works well for almonds, sunflower seeds, and timothy pellets.
- Shy is also a big fan of any berry, carrots, apples, bananas (including peel), sugar free peppermints, applesauce, dandelions, sugar free LifeSavers, sugar free Jolly Ranchers, and dried spit peas.
- Shy does not like pumpkin, squash, green beans, whipped cream, chocolate, ice cream, or ravioli.
- Other foods Shy has tried (in tiny moderations): Funfetti cupcakes, broccoli, cauliflower, Cheese Its, Cheddar and Sour Cream chips, pretzels, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
- Shy prefers living and working/riding outside to inside. She currently lives outside on a 15 acre pasture with 4 other horses.
- Shy will attempt anything I try with her: barrel racing (not very fast though), jumping, driving, dressage, tricks. She is a good girl.
- We show in a driving circuit, even though Shy does not drive anymore.
- Shy also shows lead line with Lily, next year we hope to be moving up to walk/trot!
- Shy can be sassy. But that is part of the fun!
- She is very independent. She has no problem with other horses and does enjoy the herd, but she will go off on her own when she wants to without a problem.
I like the way you document her changes and improvements. Very cute.
