Here are the rules:
Answer one or all of the prompts. Link back to Living a Dream's post. Visit other blogs. And don't forget to ask a question of everyone else!
1. What are you thoughts on providing hay for your horse when you trailer him/her?
The one time I trailered Shyloh, so far, hay was provided. We had no idea how she would react to the trailer, but everyone there was quite surprised when she walked right in. Providing hay around here seems to be the norm. Maybe it gives them something to do on the ride so they don't focus on being in the trailer? I think she could go either way and I have not formed a real opinion on this yet. Good question! I look forward to others answers and reasoning.
2. You have just won a 2 minute shopping spree at a tack store. Which store are you in and what would you grab?
Oh my! I have not visited many tack stores, not too many in the area. Is Schnieder's an actual store, too? (Just looked it up, yes it is!) I would go there and grab a fancy western leather bridle, a nice leather breatcollar, a couple Myler bits (so I have a selection to try), a few driving bits, a couple halters, some grooming stuff, as much fly spray as I can carry, and a new pair of Ariat FatBabys. Do I have any time left?
3. What plans do you have for the weekend?
This is the fun part. . .I am in Florida! So I plan on soaking up some sun, watching these mini crabs I found do these funky little dances, and
Swinging from the palm trees, |
Wading in the bay, |
Walking on the beach |
Funny thing is, as I was walking along the beach (husband is attending a conference), I was thinking that both dogs and Shyloh would really love this! Which leads me to my question. . .
If you could take your horse anywhere on vacation, where would you go?
I LOVE Florida! I'm glad you're having so much fun there.
ReplyDeleteIn answer to your question my answer actually would be Florida! Or somewhere else I can ride Chrome on the beach. That would be a total dream come true!
I'll get the blog hop posted tomorrow, so keep an eye on my blog. :)
I'd love to go to Schnieder's too.
ReplyDeleteFlorida! Nice! Hope you have a great time.
I have a vacation planned this year for Misty and me. It's not grand or exotic, but is something I've been wanting to do for years. I am taking Misty to a dude ranch where we will work on horsemanship with a trainer and trail ride in the national forest. I'm going to camp in my horse trailer or rent a cabin; enjoy the evening dude ranch entertainment, and chow down on some hearty chuck wagon cookin'.
Sounds amazing! That would be so much fun!
DeleteI was all set to go to Australia and then reread your question and realized I have to take my horse(s) with me. Yeah, I'm sure it would be fun riding there, but I'm not certain they would like such a long trip!
ReplyDeleteMy next thought was to travel back in time so that I'd be younger and more athletic and could have more fun with them. But, if I turned the clock back, they'd go back in utero or wherever!
I think I'd like to join Once Upon ... and now I know why she's feeling so poor! I saw information about the dude ranch clinic and it sounds like a lot of fun!
I would love to visit Australia! We should all join Once Upon, the dude ranch sounds perfect!
DeleteOf course, I first need to get this new bolting behavior under control. Ugh!
We have some beautiful horse camps in California. I would love to take Roxy to the mountains. She's so easy going and loves trail riding I know that she would love a weekend camping trip. And Dolly would be comfortable if she got to be with Roxy.
