The countdown begins to the day that this happened:
Stepping off the trailer to my new home! |
and I came home for good. I have to say, it was a good day, although I did not know it at the time. I did not know a lot of things then:
- I did not know then that I would be loved so much by Allie. She was kinda annoying, still can be. . .
- I did not know then that I would have my own section of this blog, which I take full advantage of.
- I did not know then that no one was going to hurt me.
- I did not know then that people could be so nice! All of the barn people are great!
- I did not know then that I would be learning tricks, thus making me the cutest horse in the barn.
- I did not know then what treats were! Apples and carrots and bananas, oh my!
- I did not know then that I would be Shyloh, Haflinger extraordinaire.
- I did not know then that I would meet some great horsey friends that didn't want to eat my mane.
- I did not know then that I would be learning dressage. Or how to drive.
- I did not know then that not everything is out to eat me.
- I did not know then that I would have my very own stall!
- I did not know then that I would be traveling to shows with other horses like me!
- I did not know then that I would get to eat delicious grass.
- I did not know then what legs meant during riding.
- I did not know then that I would be ridden so much, and be so excepting of a rider.
- I did not know then that I would be such a happy horse.
First days are always scary! |
Because I am a happy horse. I have everything I need, even if it is not everything I want. I have morphed into a sassy, beautiful, good Haflinger. July 22nd marks the day. That day is also going to be my birthday. I will be six. Please send your presents of hay, fruit, and treats to Moonlyte Equestrian Center, last stall on the left. I'll be waiting for them!
~Shyloh
Awww, Shyloh, what a wonderful musing. You are indeed a lucky Haffie. You've come a long way. More fun to come. Happy homecomeing birthday.
ReplyDeleteShyloh, you are one lucky horse and you have made such progress over the last year. And, you have so much more to look forward to! Congratulations on your new upcoming birthday.
ReplyDeleteHow bout if I send good wishes. I'm good at good wishes. You r a lucky girl as am I.
ReplyDeleteAwww, I bet that Pippin and Doc are feeling the same way you did, a year ago, right this very minute! Although, I'd like to think that all of the things I did with them made them confident and that all they care about is their food and some treats now and then.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Birthday. You didn't give us enough information about just where you barn is... so it may be hard to send some treats!
Thanks everyone! I am one lucky horse!
ReplyDeleteAww great post!! I'm glad you're happy Shy! Happy birthday and anniversary!
