monday musings by shyloh #121

Um. . .Allie, what is this?

I am not sure I like what I am seeing. . .
I must inspect it closer.

Does it taste as good as it looks?
Not really. . .

So, what do you except that we will be doing with this? Wait, before you get any ideas, don't you think I should try it on?

Okay, looks like it fits. Looks like it fits pretty good.

What does this mean for us? I am almost afraid to ask! But, I do admit, I look pretty darn cute all decked up!

Guess we have a new saddle! I am hoping for some fun times, but not too much work. Allie needs to punch some holes in the breastcollar to make it fit, and get a cool looking square saddle pad that fits, then we are all set. Looks pretty nice and it is a Circle Y! I am one stylin' pony!

  1. Looks like it might be to long for her back. I just know when tryin one that sat like that on Camryn. Her ample bum was rubbed as she moved in it.

  2. Color me jealous that you have a Circle Y saddle, Shy. You are one lucky horse. I'm sure you and Allie will have lots of fun with it.

  7. Lovely saddle.

Buuuuuuuut ... count me in with Camryn's mom, because I think it looks long on her. It's too bad that it's not a round skirt because I think that where the base of the cantle is is fine but she's probably going to get poked in the hip, especially if you go at a faster gait.

  8. Also, I'm noooooot sure because the picture seems to be at an angle and she's not standing square, but your saddle might be sitting too far forward. I've been trying to find her shoulder, and if she's anything like Mitch, she'll have a good one. If it's where I think it is, it's possible it could really be hard for her to freely move. The problem being is if you move the saddle back, it'll definitely sit too far back on her hip.

You're going to have to get up on that saddle, and have someone put their hand under the skirt and walk along with you as she walks to see how her shoulder movement is doing.

  9. It looks beautiful, but I hate to put a downer on your excitement... but I agree with Camryn and Lei. However, it is hard to tell from the pictures since I can't see all of Shy's shoulder in the side view. From the front it seems to fit beautifully - that was a tough area for my guys. And, the skirt doesn't go down too far on each side, so it may not be a problem with her hips as long as you have the yummy looking pad under it.
