horze fleece giveaway

                            ******This contest is over******
Liz, congrats on winning the giveaway!

Horze is giving me another opportunity to giveaway one of their products. This time, it is something for your horse. And again, since colder weather is approaching, many horses in work will need a cooler to help wick the sweat away after a ride. Horze products are well made and priced right. I am about to order Shyloh a nice fleece halter for winter.

This Horze cooler comes in six different colors, including a striped pattern and a check pattern.  The sizes range from 66 inches to 75 inches. I'll be honest here and say that I have no idea what size horses that will fit, since Shy doesn't wear a blanket and the cooler she has was a gift from Jaime (which she rarely wears because she rarely sweats).

The lightweight fleece rug has cross surcingles, front straps, and a tail strap to keep it in place as your horse cools down. It also has good overall customer reviews. And it looks like you can even put it under a blanket as an extra layer for those super cold days that are approaching.

One lucky reader can win this Horze Base fleece, all you have to do is:
  • Go to Horze.com and look around to see what they have to offer.
  • Comment under this blog post with a Horze item you are most interested in. It's mostly English stuff, but I have found a few things that Shy "needs." They also have stuff for the rider.
  • Extra entries for sharing this giveaway on your blog, Facebook, or Twitter (be sure to put the link in the comments so I can count it).
And that is it! This giveaway ends at midnight (EST) on November 11th. That is a whole week to get your entries in and share for more entries! The more the merrier (and the more opportunities for more giveaways!) Open to US shipping only. Best of luck!!

  1. To give you a comparison for sizing, Simon is 16.2hh and is a 78". My 15.2hh QH was a 76" so it really depends on their height and width.

  2. 66 is pretty much a maybe medium pony and 75 is probably small horse (although my Thoroughbred was 15.3 and wore a 75 cause he was a narrow skinny man whereas Jet wears a 75 because she's broad even if she's a whole 4 inches shorter)

Horze has a lot of great products, but the one I'm most interested in (besides this fleece cooler) is this fleece cooler. Mitch is clipped again this year, and needs a new turnout blanket. I'm finding ones I like, but they're really heavy (like 300g) and he doesn't need that every night. A fleece cooler would allow me to use it as a blanket liner for nights when it is almost freezing and still have a lighter weight blanket on the regular nights.

  3. Dude. You read my freaking mind. This is exactly what I've been looking for for Q for the chillier races we go to when she's confined to a pen and can't move about to keep warm/get out of the wind. And OMG aquamarine?!!! Can I have that for MYSELF? I'll sleep with it.

  4. Oooh, fancy! With blankets, it's all about build. My 15.2hh QH wore an 80... cause he was a semitruck. My 16.1hh Appendix wears a 78... which is a titch big on him.

Also, I really like this whip from Horze: http://www.horze.com/whips/horze-nicolet-riding-bat/42209.html (ANd I need a new one so badly!)

  13. I would definitely get this pad http://www.horze.com/dressage-saddle-pads/horze-elite-dressage-saddle-pad/17092.html#BL

    In purple.

I have a slight problem or obsession with the color purple. :)

I have actually ordered from Horze before and thoroughly enjoyed my stuff. Have just been hoping they would send out another coupon/incentive... :)

  14. I have yet to try any of their blankets, but my pony does need this rain turnout: Horze Avalanch rain fleece at http://www.horze.com/turnout%2Frain-sheets/horze-avalanch-rain-fleece/24014.html
She's a 15.2hh National Showhorse type and wears a 72" usually, if that give you any idea.

  16. http://www.horze.com/outdoor-blankets/horze-royal-equus-mid-season-rug/24353.html I am loving this blanket with the different style cut to it. I have some hard to fit horses it might work on.

  17. My guy has shown signs of needing more support under his saddle as his back musculature changes, so I would go for this fleece half pad: http://www.horze.com/other-pads/horze-sheepskin-rising-pad/17603.html#OWH

Seriously drooling over that cooler. I like my cooler now but it's not nearly that nice.

  18. This is going to sound ridiculous, but Connor has started head-tossing under saddle in response to, I think, his mane going crazy and touching his ears, so I'm going to pick up a fly bonnet like this one sometime soon:
