hobby horse blog hop #24

Here are the rules:
Answer one or all of the prompts. Link back to Living a Dream's post. Visit other blogs. And don't forget to ask a question of everyone else!
1. What's the 'next' horse/dog/cat/pet you would consider acquiring? Do you tend to plan and purposefully acquire animals, or do they just seem to find you?
Hmmm. . .nothing at this point, I am all animaled out! Cooper was a purposeful acquisition. Me and Mike scoured PetFinder looking for a pet to adopt. We finally found Shrek aka Cooper at a local animal shelter. He was two days from being put down. This was eight years ago! Maggie was found on the streets of Detroit by a foster parent when I used to work in foster care. We were not looking for a dog or puppy at that time, but we had just bought our house and she came to live with us. Shyloh was purposeful, but a kind of rushed purchase.

2. Pet food: are you particular about ingredients or will any kind do?  Do you have a fussy eater?
I am pretty particular. When we got Cooper, we went through a bunch of foods before we found anything he would eat. And then we had to mix a moist food in with it to get him to eat on a regular basis. Slowly, we used less and less of the moist food. Maggie will eat just about anything. I now feed the dogs Kumpi (made in the USA, no factory recalls).  Shyloh gets a good quality hay, multi-vitamin crumbles, raspberry leaf, and supplements. She is not too picky with what she eats!

3.Camping? Motel 6, RV, tent or 'no way'!
Camping, yes!! We have always camped in a tent, but I think I would really enjoy an RV.  Camping is really a lot of work. Our retirement plan includes buying an RV and traveling.

My question: If you had to do a freestyle dressage what what your song be?

  1. Oh, what a great question - and I have no clue! I once rode with a friend in a costume contest and we sang Man of La Mancha!
I would want something with a strong beat - probably something like a march.
Do you know what you'd ride to? Do you hear that song when you ride?

  2. Freestyle dressage? Not that I'd ever do it, but if I did, I'd pick something crazy to shake up the judges. Some Dub-Step, I think. Easy beats for the horse to follow, just off-the-beaten-track enough to give the judges heart attacks. I kinda think that dressage folk are too stuffy and need shook up a bit.

  3. Wow, everyone (not just blogger friends, but some people I know in real life) is so stereotyping dressage lol. My group of dressage friends are some of the most fun, exciting people to be around. Heck at our yearly schooling shows we dress up in Hawaiian themed outfits, including coconut bras LOL! Rated shows may seem stuffy, but that's because there are rules and expectations. Heck, we aren't even allowed to talk during our tests. I wish we could lol. As far as what music I would choose for my freestyle.... I'm really not sure. I've thought about it before, but never really decided on anything. Probably something really fun from the eighties. :D
