snarktastic little contribution

One day this week, I received an email from none other than the infamous Dressage Empress (DE) from Snarky Rider. How cool, right?

She knew I was in the process of training Shyloh to drive (slowly and surely) and asked me to look at a video and give some thoughts. So I did, and included some photos of Shy, just because she is so darn cute.

Cute right?

So here is the link to my snarktastic little contribution to her post!

What do you think? I know there was just so much wrong with the video that to include everything would fill a book, but did I get the basic points across? I just feel so bad for that poor horse, too!

I want to steal this license plate!

  1. Wow! I too, am just amazed that horse didn't get hurt! Such a beautiful animal and so sad he was with the dumbest people on earth. Or some of the dumbest people on earth. Just when I think I have seen it all. WOW.

    1. I know. People should really have to get an animal license, kinda like a driver's license. Wouldn't solve the problem, but might week out the really lazy/dumb people.

  2. I had seen that video before - atrocious!
Although, you do have to admire the athleticism of the horse - just look at the airs above the ground!

    1. That fact the the horse did not jump in the cart and stomp the people is amazing to me!

  3. As much as I LOVE you and Shy together & all the progress you've made with her, that video made me so sad to know that people like that are the reason good horses get dumped at bad auctions with their man-made problems. Thank you again for working through Shy's initial roughness and polishing her till she shined!!

  4. OMG, that just pained me beyond description. They're so lucky it was the wagon not the horse that got injured. I know it's mean but, when I saw the people falling head first out of the cart I was actually hoping a good bump on their head would bring at least a snippet of sanity to them.

    1. It was awful! To think that people would do that to any animal is beyond belief!

  5. Ha, glad I'm not the only one happy to see them get dragged out on their heads. I can't believe it took THAT LONG for them to realize how dangerous the situation is. That poor horse was TERRIFIED!!!!!!!!

Yes, you did a wonderful job pointing out what the did wrong and explaining the correct way of doing things. Very nice article. :D

I seriously hope those people send that horse to a nice home and just get out of the horse business altogether!

P.S. I promise I will get caught up on what I've missed on your blog as soon as I can.

  6. That video is horrific. What makes it even worse is that we're only seeing an edited version. I wonder just how long that "training session" went on?
    Poor horse.
